Aunt Judy

My Aunt Judy's Christmas dishes:

My Lenox Christmas dishes were in Arizona and we had not used them since Christmas 2003. Could not get out there for 2004 and 2005--or again for 2006. Each year, I would bemoan the fact that I did not have my Lenox Christmas dishes--even though I have two other sets of Christmas dishes in Rose City. A week and a half ago, Mike said, "Mom, I am going to Arizona to get your Christmas dishes". I said, "Mike, I don't need them. It is just not worth the cost of the trip". He said, "Mom, you do need them. I am going to get them for you." The next day, Uncle Lorain decided to go with Mike provided Aunt Rita and Steve could come to stay with me. Mike and Lorain left the next day and returned in a week. Rachel, they drove exactly 4,935 miles to get my "needed" Christmas dishes--a nativity set, a globe, some Christmas cards, and a few more things. That is "need"; that is love!

This is a re-post from December 2006... an excerpt from an email from my Aunt Judy about her beautiful Christmas dishes. I'm glad she is at peace today and I will always be grateful for her presence in my life.
